PROVENCE SERIES
The series began in 1994 and ended in 2004.The area in Provence which provided the inspiration for the works is called the Lubéron,which lies to the east of
Avignon.It is composed of a range of hills with perched villages centuries old. It is a landscape of vines, cherry and almond orchards, bright blue skies, blazing
sunshine and the Mistral,which inspired Van Gogh. The titles of the paintings are taken from the villages or area that inspired the work. The villages of Gordes,
Ménerbes, Oppède le Vieux, Roussillon and Bonnieux,are perched on limestone escarpments; they are spectacular and mysterious, This is where the artist lived
whilst creating the works.
LANGUEDOC ROUSSILLON SERIES
These works began in 2004. The artist now lives in the village of Salses le Château, near to the sea, and lakes, home to flamingoes, cormorants, herons and
seabirds. There are oyster beds,palm trees,the Canigou mountain and the hills bordering Spain, with the presence of the mighty wind, the Tramontane. Like the
Lubéron, this area has inspired many artists, namely Matisse,Maillol,Dufy,Picasso,Chagall,Dérain,Miro,Dali and others.
SERIE PROVENCE
La série a débuté en 1994 et s'est terminée en 2004. Le lieu en Provence qui a été la source de l'inspiration de ces oeuvres s'appelle le Lubéron, situé à l'est
d'Avignon. Il est composé d'une chaîne de collines,ou s'y trouvent perchés des villages séculaires. C'est un paysage de vignes, vergers de cérisiers et
d'amandiers, qui se détache sur un ciel bleu profond, de soleil éblouissant et de Mistral, des caracteristiques qui ont inspiré Van Gogh. Les titres des tableaux
correspondent aux lieux ou aux villages que le peintre a parcouru. Les villages de Gordes, Ménerbes, Oppède le Vieux, Roussillon et Bonnieux sont perchés sur
des affleurements de calcaire; ils sont spectaculaires et mystérieux. C'est là que l'artiste vivait durant le création de ces oeuvres.
SERIE LANGUEDOC ROUSSILLON
Ces oeuvres ont débutés en 2004. Maintenant l'artiste habite dans le village de Salses le Château,avec la mer pas loin- il y a des étangs, le pays des flamants,
cormorans,hérons et des oiseaux de mer. Il y a des parcs à huîtres et palmiers, les Pyrénees avec son Canigou qui sont la frontière d'Espagne, en présence de la
Tramontane. Ce lieu a inspiré les artistes, comme Matisse,Maillol,Dufy,Picasso, Chagall, Dérain,Miro, Dali et autres.
